Cyberpunk 2077 New Screenshots & Details Released

CD Projekt Red has shed some more light on Cyberpunk 2077 through sharing some new screenshots and details about the game. If you’ve been wondering whether or not CDPR will add weight and a ripple-effect to difficult decisions in Cyberpunk, you better believe that they will. On the other hand, unlike the Witcher series, you’ll be able to create your own character, even though the game will be a first-person RPG.

Fair warning: I’m a huge fan of all things cyberpunk. So, I’m probably never going to be even remotely objective when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077. With that in mind, let’s get into the meat of it. After the release of the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer at E3 2018, the game is back in the public eye in a big way. They’ve released a new set of screenshots from the game, which you can check out below. We also got to learn more details about the game, so we’re gonna dive right in.

First off, our protagonist’s name is V, which is pretty generic and evocative of V for Vendetta, but oh well. V is a gun-for-hire in Night City, “the most violent and dangerous metropolis of the corporate-ruled future.” Those of you that have played the pen-and-paper RPG Cyberpunk 2020 that the game is based on will immediately be familiar with Night City. Anyway, we’ll be seeing everything from V’s viewpoint, “with an interactive dialogue system that gives them greater narrative agency.”

AS is the case with all CD Projekt Red’s RPGs, consequences and choices will play a significant role in the game. Whatever you choose to do when presented with a tough decision will have effects that you’ll feel throughout the whole game. And, in a CD Projekt Red first, Cyberpunk 2077 will offer character creation. You’ll be able to choose V’s gender, character class, appearance, and background. All of these aspects will very likely have serious repercussions in the game. I absolutely can’t wait for this game. In the meantime, I’ll settle for the screenshots.
