It’s still unclear if there are any benefits to this apart from the cool new look and a couple of abilities. This guide will show you how to become a dragon in Dark Souls 3.

How to turn into a dragon

You’ll need a Dragon Head Stone and Dragon Torso Stone. Once you’ve got them, uneqip all your armor. If you want just the head, remove only the helmet. Use both items once you’re undressed, and you’ll turn into a dragon. The only way to turn back into your regular form is by dying.

When you’re a dragon, you’ll be able to breathe fire and use the roar ability, which does AoE damage. Using these abilities is done by keeping the corresponding stones (head and torso, respectively) in the item quick-slots, then pressing the Use button. On the downside, you won’t be able to wear any armor. You’ll still get to use your rings, weapons and shields normally.

Dragon Stone Locations

The Dragon Torso Stone can be obtained in Irithyll Dungeon, on the cliff next to the elevator. It’s on the petrified dragon sitting near the edge of the cliff. The Dragon Head Stone is a reward for killing the Ancient Wyvern in Archdragon Peak.

There’s also an upgraded version of the set. The first part is the Twinkling Dragon Torso Stone, which can be found in Archdragon Peak. You can get it by using the Path of The Dragon gesture at the altar overlooking the dragon corpse in the distance. The other part is the Twinkling Dragon Head Stone, which you’ll get if you defeat Hawkmoon in a duel in the Farron Keep boss arena, after you’ve already gotten the torso.
