Destiny 2 Getting Fixes for Content Lockout in Upcoming Update

Bungie has promised to fix the issue with content lockout caused by the Curse of Osiris DLC. They’ll be dialing down the Power Level requirement for the Prestige Leviathan Raid, and making Nightfall and Trials of the Nine available to all, unless a Curse of Osiris map is on rotation that week.

Once again, the Destiny fandom has made their rage known and made Bungie back down. As we covered before, the Curse of Osiris DLC locked people out of the Prestige Raid and Nightfall Strikes. It did so by raising the Power Level requirement beyond what you can reach with only the base game. Of course, the player base showed their teeth, and Bungie quickly changed their mind, claiming that the whole situation was a mistake in a new update post.

To remedy the issue, Bungie will be rolling out the new Update 1.1.1.1 hotfix. So, what exactly is that hotfix going to do? Well, for one, the Power Level for the Prestige Leviathan Raid will go back to 300, but the rewards will go down accordingly. The Trials of The Nine will be available for all, unless a Curse of Osiris map is on rotation. The same goes for normal Nightfall activities. The Prestige Nightfall will stay at a 330 Power Level. Time-Limited Events, such as The Dawning, Faction Rallies, and Iron Banner, will “be made available to all players.” The post also promises that they will improve on Heroic strikes, with “new challenges, new Modifiers, and free access for all players.”

Now, whether or not this will appease the majority of Destiny fans remains to be seen. Destiny 2 still sports an impressive player base, but it is bleeding. Some fans that have followed the franchise from the very beginning have become so disillusioned that they just gave up on the whole thing. One thing is for certain: If Bungie wants to keep their players happy, they’ll have to be way more careful in the future. Update 1.1.1.1 will roll out on December 12th, after
