Destiny 2 New Exotic Iron Banner Emote Only Available for Silver

The new exotic Iron Banner emote, Salute of the Iron Lord, is currently only available in the Eververse. Plus, you can currently only acquire it using Silver, which, in turn, you can only get by purchasing it with real money. Needless to say, Guardians aren’t too happy with this.

Bungie and Destiny 2 can’t catch a break. The latest complaint that the fans have is the new exotic Iron Banner emote, called Salute of the Iron Lords. Apparently, the only way you can get this emote is by forking out 1100 Silver. Tess will not accept bright dust for this one. As Bungie Community Manager Cozmo put it in a comment on Reddit: “We have received a lot of feedback about making more Eververse items available for direct purchase. Currently, this emote does not drop anywhere else.”

Now, on the one hand, he’s right. People have been asking for direct purchases of the Eververse wares (having accepted the Eververse as a thing, because what else can you do), and it’s good that Bungie is listening. On the other hand, it’s not that simple. For one, you can only get Silver in Destiny 2 by paying real money. 1100 Silver comes out at $10. That’s pretty steep for what you get. Additionally, they decided to make an Iron Banner emote available only by purchasing. That’s kinda against the whole spirit of the Iron Banner; not to mention the fact that some players earned the Throne emote by playing the Spire of Stars raid lair.

Now, you can easily make the argument that this is just a cosmetic emote. If you don’t want it, just don’t buy it. And, well, you’re not wrong. However, players of Destiny 2 are arguing the principle of the whole thing. Both arguments hold merit, in my personal opinion.
