Destiny 2 Second Expansion Coming in May, Roadmap Revealed

Watching what has been happening with Activision, Bungie, and Destiny 2 this year has been very educational. It’s the perfect demonstration of how fast an established and beloved developer and franchise can lose huge amounts of consumer good will. I know it’s not Bungie’s fault; at least, not completely. That being said, though, after getting caught in hiding things from players, they should really try to be as transparent as possible. Que the new development roadmap (pictured above), detailing what they intend to do with Destiny 2 until May 2018.

The roadmap goes into a lot of detail into the various improvements and additional content that Bungie has planned for the next couple of months. They even included stretch goal features which may or may not “slip to a later release”. The only thing they neglected to make clear is that the second expansion for Destiny 2 will be coming out along with Season 3 in May. Fortunately, director Christopher Barrett cleared that up on Twitter.

Let’s go over what the future has in store for Destiny 2. First off, on February 27th, the Strikes and Social update 1.1.3 will come out. With it, it will bring an Emblem/Aura rework, PC public text chat, exotic repetition reduction, and more. Then, on March 27th, Sandbox and Crucible update 1.1.4 is set to launch. You’ll be getting heroic strike modifiers, crucible quitter penalties, Iron Banner 6v6, and so on. Lastly, in May, an entire new season of content will start coming out. Obviously, the new expansion will (hopefully) introduce a bunch of new stuff. On top of that,, they’re bringing the Eater of Worlds Prestige mode, and so much more.
