Destiny 2 Warmind Expansion Adding New Exotic Weapons & Armor

The Destiny 2 Warmind livestream came and went, and it brought some new information about the long-awaited expansion. It’s pretty much what you’d expect from a Destiny 2 DLC, both good and bad. The silver lining is that it’s part of the season pass and deluxe edition, so most people who are interested in it have probably already bought it. Along with the livestream came the prologue cinematic, which will ease you into the events of the DLC.

Destiny 2 Warmind Expansion Adding New Exotic Weapons & Armor

Let’s get the prologue out of the way first. It follows Ana Bray, a guardian as edgy as any guardian could hope to become, delving into her past even though she knows she isn’t supposed to. She’s not good with rules, you see. Her inner monologue introduces a vague threat, something “far more terrifying” than Rasputin, who was supposed to be the most powerful weapon in the solar system.

The polar ice caps of Mars are going to be the new destination, and Bray is going to be our local vendor. The level cap will be increased to 30, and the power level cap to 380. We’re going to fight a bunch of Hive tinted blue, because ice. We’re going to get new story missions, a new raid lair on the Leviathan (not a proper raid, sadly), a new type of public event with increasing difficulty and three new strikes (one exclusive to Playstation owners).

Crucible is also getting a facelift. We’re going to get private matches as well as ranked play in competitive and quickplay. The best news is that even those who don’t own the expansion will have access to the new crucible maps. Finally, the most important thing in the whole wide world – the new exotics. Only two weapons have been confirmed so far – Suros Regime and Huckleberry. They were a bit more generous with armor – they’ve shown off Wormhusk Crown, Wormgod Caress, Oculus Xol, Sealaed Ahamkhara Grasps, Sanguine Alchemy, Ophidia Spathe, Frost EE5, Eternal Warrior, Claws of Ahamkhara, Ashen Wake, Armamentarium and Apothesis Veil.
