The Assignment DLC Teaser Trailer

The Assignment, the first of three planned DLCs for The Evil Within, is set to release sometime in March, and publisher Bethesda Softworks has a teaser trailer to go along with the announcement.

The story in this mini-expansion will focus on Detective Castellanos’ partner, Juli Kidman, and explore the plot of the game from her point of view.

It is supposed to illuminate us on certain points in the story, like the lore of Ruvik and STEM, while posing other questions in its wake. According to the developers, Juli’s story is also a bit more personal than Sebastian’s.

If you’re worried it might feel like more of the same, John Johanas, the content’s director has some soothing words to share: “I wanted the DLC to play different rather than having it feel like just a character skin. My favorite DLCs have been ones that give the player a new spin on gameplay, while still feeling connected to the main title.”

As for the other two promised add-ons – The Consequence will be the second part to Juli’s story, while The Keeper is going to be a collection of mission based maps that will put you in the role of one of the game’s more prominent antagonists.

If you’ve had a good time with The Evil Within and want to shell out money for the DLCs in advance, you can buy the Season Pass. It includes all three pieces of planned downloadable content, and will set you back 20$/20€/15£.
