In the Death Spell trailer, Noctis is using the Ring of the Lucii, a powerful artifact that grants him the ability to drain health from his enemies over time. Continuously holding the attack button will constantly drain it, until the enemy drops dead. A portion of his health points will be transfered to Noctis, healing him in the process.

The Ring of Lucii is a mystical ring Lunafreya kept safe for Noctis. It was handed down through the line of Lucian for generations, and only those with royal blood may wear it. While watching the trailer, you can also see new enemy types that you can encounter in the Duscae area, such as the Arba, Garula, Bulette, Imperial Rifleman, Magitek Axeman, Ma Veles, Glamhoth, Seadevil, Iron Giant and Bandersnatch.

While playing as Noctis, you can also hop on trees to avoid danger and attack your enemies while in mid air. Final Fantasy XV takes place in the world of Eos, where you embark on an epic quest to retake your homeland from an occupying nation. You won’t be alone, though. On his quest, Noctis will be accompanied by Gladiolus Amicitia, Ignis Scientia and Prompto Argentum, as they fight numerous monsters side by side.

Final Fantasy 15 will be released on November 29th for Xbox One and Playstation 4. You can also purchase the deluxe, day one and ultimate collector’s edition of the game, which all contain different goodies and bonuses. Sadly, it looks like a PC port might be nothing more than a pipe dream at this point, but we’ll keep on hoping.
