Now, the time has come for the first major server maintenance. Team GWENT will use the downtime to add some new systems and even a new game mode to Gwent. Here’s what we can expect.

Gwent Server Maintenance, Ranked Mode and Level Reset

New Game Mode, Server Update and Level Reset in Gwent

Here’s the direct quote from Team GWENT and CD Projekt Red:

We are performing a scheduled maintenance of GWENT’s servers. During the server downtime, we will deploy the newest update including Ranked Mode as well as revamped XP and reward systems. As a consequence of the changes the update introduces, your player level will be set to 10 (if you were below that level, nothing will be changed). The maintenance should conclude at 3PM CET.

This is very exciting news. These are some very major changes that the game will go through, and it will be extremely interesting to see how it will affect the gameplay. Especially the XP and reward system.

I’m also very curious about this Ranked Mode. I wonder how exactly players will be ranked, and which rewards, if any, certain ranks will carry.

If I’m being honest, I’m very glad that all of the levels are getting reset to 10. I haven’t had the opportunity to play Gwent a lot lately, so maybe this will give me a fighting chance. Players are wondering whether this reset will influence other things: Their XP, their card collection and so on. So far, Team GWENT hasn’t answered this question. For my money, I think it’s highly unlikely that o much progress will get the ax, as much as I hope it will. We have yet to see what happens.

However you look at it, this is very cool news, and I can’t wait to see the new features in action! See you around the GWENT table, friends!
