Like most things in the game, the armor set can be bought from a vendor. When aboard your ship, go to the R&D department. Interact with the terminal there or talk to the attending scientist, and select the option to do research. The famous armor is in the Milky Way section. You’ll need 250 Milky Way Research Data in order to unlock all the pieces – 100 for the chest, and 50 each for the helmet, arms and legs. You’ll need a bunch more in order to upgrade it to its highest level, but 250 will get you started.

We don’t understand why you’d have to research something from your home galaxy all over again, but that’s how it is. Especially since it was being used by old man Ryder before you, and it only has to be refitted, not reinvented.

The chest piece increases your max shields up to 10%, biotic power damage up to 8% and biotic recharge speed up to 15%. The final level of the arms gives +7% max shields and +7% biotic power damage. The helmet and legs have the same stats as the arms. This means that having the whole set equipped at max level will give you:

  • Max shields +31%
  • Biotic power damage +29%
  • Biotic recharge speed +15%
