Ni No Kuni II has screenshots and a new trailer for Gamescom

The original Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch came out in 2011 in Japan and 2013 in Western Regions (published by Namco Bandai), however it was a platform exclusive. This time around, the sequel is coming to both PS4 and the PC and the developer decided to show off some of the screenshots and a brand new trailer for Gamescom 2017.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is set several hundred years after the original game. Players will take the role of Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum, who is none other but a young usurped king (of the cat tribe) whose job is to take his kingdom back (from the mouse tribe who performed a coup d’état).

Unlike the last game, Studio Ghibli was not directly involved, but the game does retain a similar graphics style, since Yoshiyuki Momose, who is a former Ghibli character designer, is back and working on this game as well. Music will once again be composed by Joe Hisaishi, just like in Wrath of the White Witch.

The game should be out on January 19, 2018, and as we wait for more info on this year’s Gamescom, let us check out the new screenshot gallery.
