New PlayStation 4 System Software Update Beta up for Signups

Sony is asking for help of fans to beta test an upcoming major system software update for the PS4. Players have time to sign up until the beta rolls out in February. Also, if you enjoy doing beta testing, you can choose to be added automatically to all future updates, and earn an exclusive PSN avatar.

New PlayStation 4 System Software Update Beta up for Signups

A few months ago, Sony opened the doors for players to sign up or beta testing of an upcoming update, which eventually rolled out as system update 5.0. It brought in several new features, such as friend list management, and the player feedback was likely extremely valuable. As a result, as was announced on PlayStation Blog, PlayStation 4 owners will be able to participate in a new system software update beta.

The post says that you can sign up for a chance to participate in the beta starting now and up until the beta begins in February. This time around, Canadian PS4 players will also be able to take part in the fun. According to Game Rant, Japanese fans have until January 23rd to sign up. In order to participate, you have to be eighteen years old. You, of course, need to have a working internet connection, and an SEN account. If you get selected to participate in the beta you’ll get an email with instructions on how to download it. If you decide you want out, you can roll back the changes at any time.

In case you like being a beta tester for the system updates, from this beta on, you can opt to be added automatically to all future ones. You won’t have to register again. Oh, and as a little reward, you’ll get and exclusive PSN avatar. So, if you’re down with doing some beta testing, you can sign up right now.
