Shadow of the Tomb Raider Trailer Leaked Early by Microsoft

You can watch the Shadow of the Tomb Raider full trailer early, thanks to what I assume to be a little whoopsie on the side of Microsoft. The trailer is pretty intense, and seems to show a darker side of Lara. Also, as many have already guessed, the game will revolve around Mayans and the Eclipse.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Trailer Leaked Early by Microsoft

Microsoft has, presumably accidentally, posted the long-awaited full trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider. As of writing this article, the video is still up. Watch it while it’s still up, because I have a sneaking suspicion that Microsoft will take it down pretty soon. You’re gonna have to click the link there, because there’s no way to embed the video otherwise. However, the trailer will no doubt be out soon via official channels, just on purpose this time.

As for the trailer itself, it’s surprisingly dark, gritty, and brooding. It presents Lara Croft as a combination of Predator and Rambo. It’s kinda unsettling, but pretty damned cool, to be sure. The trailer itself cuts through several setpieces, with the two most prominent being a Mayan human sacrifice that Lara interrupts, and her taking out a group of elite soldiers. The latter is what reminded me of Predator the most. Just watch how Lara silently disposes of them from the shadows. However, it’s worth noting just how harrowed Lara Croft is looking. She really looks like she’s gone through Hell and back. And the video’s brief narration seems to underline that, with Lara asking herself what she has become, after coming so far.

All in all, Shadow of the Tomb Raider seems like it will be a very tense, emotionally draining experience. This is definitely far from the Lara of yore, and I’m extremely curious to see how all of this will play out. Especially considering that this game might wrap up this new trilogy. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is coming out on September 14th. It’s coming out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
