How Does Honor Meter Affect the Game in Red Dead Online?

Your Honor meter will affect your gameplay significantly in Red Dead Redemption 2 Online. For example, certain missions will open or lock for you in Free Roam depending on your Honor. An honorable player might get asked to escort a caravan and protect it from attacks (even other posses), for example. On the other hand, a dishonorable player might get the task to spring somebody out of jail. The same goes for missions designed to go through with other players. These are strings of missions, and some parts might change depending on your honor score.

Curiously, there is an NPC that you can actually pay to change your honor from honorable to dishonorable, and vice versa. His name is Old Man Jones, and you can find him in several locations. For example, you can find him west of Riggs Station. His icon is a cowboy head that’s half white and half red. You can pay him to become dishonorable, even if you have an honor meter that’s all the way into honorable. The only catch is that you need to pay him three Gold Bars, which are the premium currency in Red Dead Online.
