New Trailer for Resident Evil 7

The new Resident Evil 7: Biohazard trailer reveals more about the in-game story and the main character, Ethan Winters. We find out that he went to the abandoned farm to find his missing wife that’s presumed dead. The setup to the story somewhat resembles that of Silent Hill 2. Make no mistake, that is a compliment.
The video goes on to show us some of the unpleasantness that players will have to combat in the new Resident Evil. Some major changes have been obvious for a while now. It seems like the new game is taking a full departure from the previous games. Now, they’re embracing the first-person survival horror. There are no zombies to be seen in the trailer. Instead, we get ghosts, a family of cannibals, and an unidentified black ooze. So, it’s less classic RE, and more Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This shift in tone will certainly bring attention to the new installment in the franchise.

The final update for the Beginning Hour demo is out as well. The name of the update is Midnight, and it features new content and paths for players to explore. Midnight is already available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation VR. As for the Xbox One and Steam, the demo will debut in its full form on those platforms soon. Specifically, December 9th on the Xbox and December 19th on Steam.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard launches in Europe and North America on January 24th, 2017. It will be available for PlayStation 4 (optional PlayStation VR mode included), Xbox One and Windows PC (both on Steam and the Windows 10 store).
