Titanfall 2 War Games Free DLC Coming on June 27th

Respawn Entertainment is continuing its superb post-launch support for Titanfall 2 with another piece of free DLC. The add-on is called The War Games, and it brings a new map, a third weapon slot, a new execution and a new game mode on the permanent mode list. It’s going to be released on June 27th.

By far the biggest addition is the third weapon slot. The community is already crying tears of joy because of it. It will allow pilots to carry a primary, secondary and anti-titan weapon. No more choosing between anti-titan stuff and sidearms – yay!

Apart from that, the new map is what looks most interesting. It’s called War Games, and here’s how the devs describe it:

Pilots on the Frontier frequently use simulator pods to train, using life-like recreations of historical battles as combat scenarios. War Games highlights the civilian shops, tall buildings for window-to-window fighting, and city streets for Titan combat from the Battle of Angel City, and the large, open tank garage facilities for hand-to-hand Pilot combat from the Battle of Airbase Sierra. The outskirts of the map feature a clean, VR style perfect for Titan duels, while Pilots are often found running along the bright, interconnected wallrunning routes.

There’s also a live fire map called Traffic, for those among us who don’t have time for proper matches. A new execution will be added (Shadow Boxing). Titan Brawl will become part of the permanent mode roster, so you won’t have to wait for the rotation to spit it out anymore. While we’re on the subject of rotation, a new featured mode is also coming. It’s called Free Agents, and there’s absolutely no info on it. Respawn said they’re going to release a trailer once the DLC launches, along with detailed patch notes.
