Following contains quest spoilers. You’ve been warned
Find the Bloodstained document.
To start this treasure hunt, go to the middle island of a small island cluster to the northwest of Oxenfurt. Head to the location marked on the image below; loot the corpse of the soldier leaning against the table. Watch out for drowners.
Read the Bloodstained document to start the quest, and take the Bloodstained key for the chest.

Was able to conplete quest, but was never given key to open chest….
I got the treasure out but quest still not complete? nothing mor etoo loot out of that.
Same problem, quest not complete but found chest.
I had the same issue but managed to solve it. First time around I used Aard sign to clear the barrels, looted the chest and the quest did not complete for some reason. Reloaded my game and did once again this time without using the Aard sign and the quest completed as normal. Possible that the Aard sign is doing something funny to the quest, either way try reloading your last save and redoing it and it should complete.
