Manticore Armor | Witcher 3: Blood and Wine

Manticore Armor is a new Witcher gear set, added to the game in the Blood & Wine DLC. It’s a replica of the armor from the first game – a medium armor set with bonuses useful to any alchemy build.

You’ll need to be at least level 40 to use it. In this guide, we’re going to show you where to find Manticore Armor in Witcher 3, what it looks like and its stats.

If you want to go through the quest yourself, following the clues and unclovering the plot, you should speak to the Grandmaster Craftsman in Beauclair. If you need help with any other part of the game, be sure to check out our Witcher 3 Blood and Wine Walkthrough & Guides.

Manticore Steel Sword

The steel sword diagram is in the ruins of Bastoy prison. Go to the little lake north-west of Beauclair, then head directly west. Scale the walls to get to the tower – you’ll find the schematic on the scaffolding that goes around it.

Manticore Chest Armor

The second diagram is in a cave east of Francollarts, hidden in the forest. The walls of the cave will be lined with papers. Use your witcher senses to see which ones you can examine. Go through them until you find Merten’s Prayer – it is written on the back of the diagram.

Manticore Boots & Trousers

Go to Lebioda’s temple in the north-west, north of Castel Ravello Vineyard, by the river. Once inside, use Aard to break through the walled door. You’ll have to fight a level 40 Great Beggar’s Ghost, so you might want to prepare some spectre oil. When you’re done, look for a strongbox on a table behind the railing to the left. The diagrams will be inside.

Manticore Silver Sword

The silver sword diagram is in a cave by the lake, south of the Palace Gardens, west of Beauclair. Once you’re inside, the fumes will make you hallucinate – you’ll have to fight a Bruxa, some Archespores and a couple of Kikimore workers, all of them lvl 40. Follow the cave upward, and once the trials are over, you’ll reach a peaceful spectre. Loot the pile next to it to get the schematic.

Manticore Gauntlets Location

The final diagram is at the bottom of the Lake of Cleansing, in the north-eastern part of the map. There will be three lvl 40 bandits by the shore. Once you dive in, use your witcher senses to mark the sack with the loot you came here for.

Manticore Armor Stats

This is a medium weight set and you’ll need to be level 40 to wear it. It’s a good choice for hybrid builds that dabble in alchemy. It increases your maximum toxicity, allowing you to drink more potions without being penalised. It also provides protection from slashing, piercing and monster damage, and increases the damage you do with critical hits. Wearing three pieces of the set will let you achieve critical hits with bombs, while having the whole set on will give you an additional charge for each alchemy item.

Here’s how the Manticore outfit looks after you paint it in a different color – gray, black and white (huge thanks to Jerryno for providing the pics):
