Master Trials is the first DLC pack for Zelda Breath of The Wild. It was released today, on both the Switch and the Wii U. However, some players are having trouble downloading and accessing it. How to download Master Trials DLC
In order to start playing, you’ll first need to download the DLC. Here’s how to do it, depending on which console you’re using:
- Go to the home screen
- Select Zelda and press +
- Choose Software Updates
- Select Check for Updates. The game will detect the DLC and download it.
- Wii U:
- After you’ve bought the DLC, start the game.
- Wait for the DLC to download.
- You’ll get a notification telling you the game needs to be updated.
- Wait for the update. If it doesn’t begin, simply restart the game.
If you have a physical version for the Switch, you might need to download the DLC manually from the redownload page. Once the DLC has been installed, you can start the game. When your save file loads, an otherworldly voice will speak to you. It will tell you that it feels you’re ready to undertake the Trial of the Sword. Once the monologue is over, you’ll get a bunch of new quests, pointing you towards the Master Sword trial, the Tingle Outfit, Korok Mask, Travel Medallion, Midna’s Helmet, Majora’s Mask and Phantom Armor.
Basically, you’ll have to fiddle a bit in order to download the DLC, but once you’ve got it, the game will automatically nudgde you towards the new content. You’ll still have to find the new items yourself, but you won’t be left stranded.
