The first ghosts that you get to battle in Luigi’s Mansion 3 are in the hotel lobby, and as such, you might not be able to figure out how to kill them. How to Defeat the First Ghosts in Hotel Lobby in Luigi’s Mansion 3?

To defeat the first ghosts in the Luigi’s Mansion 3 Grand Lobby, you first have to stun them. Not all at once, of course, you can kill them one at a time. To stun these ghosts, you have to either aim your flashlight at them and press A, or use the Poltergust to suck in an object, then fire them at the ghosts. Mind you, you can stun and then damage several ghosts at once, but, again, you don’t have to. Catching them one by one is a perfectly valid approach, just beware the other ghosts when you’re busy with one.

Once a ghost is stunned, you have to approach them and start vacuuming them in with the Poltergust. You have to hold ZR and move the left stick opposite to the direction that the ghost is trying to escape in. So, if the ghost wants to run away to the left, hold the stick to the right. They’re gonna change directions, so be ready to adjust the left stick appropriately. This fills up a gauge. When the meter is full, you’ll get the prompt to hit A. As soon as you see that, press A and keep pressing it, while still holding ZR.

For every button press, you’re gonna slam the ghost into the ground and do damage. You can do the ground slam four times, but other ghosts allow different amount of slams.. After that, the ghost is either dead, or you’ll have to start the whole process over again. Incidentally, there are gonna be more ghosts in the lobby than just the two you meet initially.
