ARC Raiders A Prime Specimen, Interact with ARC Deforester
A Prime Specimen is a new quest introduced in the latest ARC Raiders: Headwinds update. This mission consists of three main objectives, one of which requires players to interact with an ARC Deforester. However, since the update went live, many players have reported that the A Prime Specimen quest is bugged, preventing them from completing this step and progressing further. We encountered the same issue during our own playthrough, but after testing several approaches, we found a reliable workaround that allows you to complete the quest successfully. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find the ARC Deforester and explain how to bypass the bug to finish the ARC Raiders A Prime Specimen quest without getting stuck.

ARC Raiders A Prime Specimen, Interact with ARC Deforester
Once you arrive at The Blue Gate map, make your way west toward the Adorned Wreckage, where the next objective unfolds. Before you can interact with the ARC Deforester, you’ll need to collect two ARC Powercells. These can be obtained by defeating any ARC-type enemies in the region, such as Wasps or Hornets, which are commonly found along the route.
At the heart of the Adorned Wreckage, you’ll immediately notice a massive ARC Deforester dominating the landscape. Approach the machine and look for a sparkling component, which indicates an interactable port. Use your first ARC Powercell here to activate it. This action will trigger a sequence that causes flames to ignite within the Deforester.
Once the fire starts, a second interaction point becomes accessible deeper inside the machine. Use your second ARC Powercell on this newly revealed port to continue the process. With both powercells used, the final step becomes available. Climb to the top of the ARC Deforester and loot it to complete the objective.
Is ARC Raiders A Prime Specimen quest bugged?
During my first visit to the ARC Deforester location, another Raider had already interacted with the port, which prevented me from using it afterward. Even after waiting for five minutes, the interaction prompt never reappeared. Based on player reports on Reddit, this isn’t an isolated issue, some players claim they waited up to fifteen minutes with no change.
As a result, I exited the raid and attempted the objective again. In total, it took three additional runs before I managed to reach the location first. Only then was I able to successfully interact with the ARC Deforester and progress the quest. It’s unclear whether this behavior is an unintended bug or a deliberate design choice, but in its current state, the mechanic is unnecessarily restrictive and leads to repeated, avoidable failed attempts.
