If your Battlefield 6 challenges aren’t tracking properly, you’re not alone — it’s become one of the more common frustrations among players lately. Ever since launch, the game’s progression system has been plagued by inconsistent challenge tracking, causing everything from minor setbacks to complete roadblocks for players trying to grind rewards and complete challenges. The issue seems to hit hardest with Weekly Challenges and Engineer Class, where tasks tied to repairing vehicles often fail to register progress. Players have shared countless examples across forums and social channels, describing how they’ve repaired vehicles multiple times — only to watch their challenge tracker stay locked.

How to fix Battlefield 6 Vehicle Repair Challenge Not Tracking – Engineer Class Bug Fix

Below is a collection of workarounds that players across the Battlefield 6 community have discovered to get their bugged challenges to track properly. While none of these are guaranteed fixes, many players report they’ve helped push certain stubborn objectives forward when progress refused to register normally.

1. Switch up your game mode.
   Some players found that progress began tracking only after switching to a different game mode. Changing the game mode can sometimes “refresh” challenge tracking and allow objectives to register again.
2. Prioritize squad-based repairs.
   Repairs performed on vehicles driven by your own squadmates tend to count more reliably than those on random teammates.
3. Playing Escalation
   Some players reported that when they started playing Escalation for a bit it started showing progress – It started working for me in escalation when I was repairing a friendly tank (reddit workaround).
4. Play as Pax Armata.
   Several reports suggest that challenges tied to vehicle repairs only seem to progress when playing as the Pax Armata faction and repairing their vehicles specifically. It’s unclear why this happens — possibly a faction-specific tracking glitch — but it’s been one of the more consistent player-reported solutions so far.
5. Make sure someone is inside the vehicle.
   A surprising but important detail: many players discovered that repairs don’t count unless there’s a player occupying the vehicle. If you’re fixing an empty tank or transport, the game often fails to register the action entirely. So, before you pull out the repair tool, make sure your teammate is actually in the driver’s seat.
6. Restart the game
   In some instances, players noticed that if their repairing vehicle points didn’t update after a match, simply restarting the game helped restore challenge tracking — at least temporarily.
7. Play a community made map versus bots in portal.
   This is the trick that worked for us. To access Portal maps from the main Battlefield 6 menu choose community and then go to “Search Experiences”. In the Maps and Modes section chose Conquest and sorted by Most Popular. We found this rather cool map called 1#full XP Conquest 64 all maps with PvP bots. Experience code is XBKV. When I entered I spawned on a bot driving a vehicle and repaired it. This is when it started counting towards achievements.

While these workarounds aren’t official fixes, they’ve helped players inch closer to completing bugged Weekly Challenges and Engineer Class until DICE issues a proper patch.
