How to Deal Damage with Leaper Pulse Unit, Pop Triggers & Wasp Drivers – ARC Raiders Phantom Targets
The Phantom Targets Project just dropped in ARC Raiders, and the second step is asking you to deal damage to any ARC enemy using three very different tools: the Leaper Pulse Unit, Pop Triggers, and Wasp Drivers. None of these are exactly common pickups, so this guide walks through the easiest way to knock out all three requirements without wasting your limited supply of throwables.

Dealing Damage to ARC Enemies Using Pop Triggers
Pop Triggers drop from those little bombs that charge at you, and you’ll find them on pretty much any map, so supply isn’t really the issue here. The tricky part is how they behave once deployed. You can drop a Pop Trigger on the ground and it starts rolling in the direction you point it, then randomly jumps around before exploding somewhere unpredictable.
Because the explosion location is random, the best strategy is to send it into a group of enemies and hope it connects with one of them. Don’t expect a high hit rate – you might burn through 20 Pop Triggers just to land the 50 damage you need for this objective. It’s a numbers game, so stock up before you head into a raid specifically for this step. One option worth trying is using Pop Triggers against a Leaper you’re already planning to fight for the later part of this objective, since that kills two birds with one stone.
Dealing Damage to ARC Enemies Using Wasp Drivers
Wasp Drivers drop from the flying Wasps, which are easy enemies to kill, so farming them isn’t much of a chore. You’ll need at least nine of these, maybe more depending on how the damage rolls land.
The most efficient way to use them is actually against a Leaper – the same enemy you’ll need to farm for the Leaper Pulse Unit later. Here’s the method:
- Stand in a doorway for cover.
- Drop three Wasp Drivers on the ground in front of you.
- Bait the Leaper into jumping at you.
- Once it jumps, it’s stunned for a couple of seconds.
- Shoot the Wasp Drivers on the ground while it’s stunned – this will likely destroy all three at once and do massive damage to the Leaper.
Repeat this a couple of times and you’ll kill the Leaper, netting you the Leaper Pulse Unit while simultaneously completing the Wasp Driver damage requirement in one efficient loop.
Dealing Damage to ARC Enemies Using the Leaper Pulse Unit
This is the step where you need to be careful, because Leaper Pulse Units aren’t easy to come by – you have to kill at least one Leaper just to get one unit, so don’t waste them on random targets.
A good approach is to track down the Matriarch and use this window, since she spawns a wave of enemies around her that you can use as damage targets. When thrown on the ground, the Leaper Pulse Unit mimics what a Leaper does when it jumps at you: it winds up with a shimmering effect for a couple of seconds before exploding in a wide AOE burst that does serious damage.
If you’re feeling bold, you can throw one directly at the Matriarch – but it won’t land from ground level. You actually have to climb to the top of the Matriarch and drop it on her, which is only recommended for the bravest raiders out there.
A safer and arguably more effective alternative is to find a Bastion. Let it lock onto you and shoot, then drop the Leaper Pulse Unit at its feet. Since the Bastion is essentially a stationary target while firing, you’re far more likely to land solid damage this way than risking it against a mobile threat like the Matriarch or the Queen. In short, save the Leaper Pulse Unit for big, stationary targets if you want to get the most value out of each one.
Extra Tips for Farming Leapers
Since both the Wasp Driver and Leaper Pulse Unit steps revolve around fighting Leapers, it’s worth knowing where to actually find them. Some players report that the best place to find Leapers is Dam Battlegrounds, which offers the most spawn locations for them compared to other raid maps. If you’re struggling to find a Leaper on a given map, that’s a solid location to check first.
