Explorer Backpack Locations in Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Explorer backpacks are a collectible in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. They serve to mark hidden items and other secrets on the map. Now, Explorer Backpacks, much like archivist maps, are difficult to find in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and you usually have to go out of your way to find them. That being the case, he’s out guide on Shadow of the Tomb Raider explorer backpack locations.

Peruvian Jungle – Where to Find Explorer Backpacks?

The first explorer backpack we’ve come across was in a small alcove near the Plane Fuselage base camp, in the southwest corner of the area. Head northwest from the base camp until you reach the top of the ledge. Hop into the water, and you’ll practically be at the mouth of the alcove. Go inside, and you’ll see backpack on the ground.

The second explorer backpack we found was in a challenge tomb near the Jungle Ruins base camp. Right to the southeast of the base camp, you’ll find the entrance into the tomb. Crawl through the tight space, then look up. Use your Lara senses to find the place where you can climb the trees. Hop across the branches to the climbable wall. Drop to the platform, and follow the short path forwards. Beware the tripwire. Look left when you reach the more open space, and you’ll see the explorer backpack.

Kuwaq Yaku Explorer Backpack Locations – Where to Find?

The first backpack that we found in Kuwaq Yaku was in northeast of the Kuwaq Yaku Ruins base camp, on a lonely path. Basically, this is inside a tomb that you will come across if you push forward on this path. Inside the tomb, you’ll come across a wall with rope wrapped around the center, which requires a Rope Ascender to use. Across the room from that wall, you’ll find the Explorer Backpack.

Cozumel Explorer Backpack Locations

The first explorer backpack you find in the game is in Cozumel, in the first large tomb area that you explore, the one with the jumping puzzle with rising and dropping platforms around an ancient temple. As you’re making your way around the cave, at one point, you’ll come across a wall that you can climb, and rappel down if you choose to climb all the way down the wall. Rappel down, and you’ll find a small alcove that you can swing towards. Head over there, and you’ll find a dig spot, and the Explorer Backpack.
