Sekiro Shadows Die Twice Launch Trailer Released

Let’s go over what the new Sekiro launch trailer showcases, shall we? I’ll do my best to not mention the fact that something called a launch trailer has come out eleven days before the game’s release date. Well, if I’m being honest, it’s a pretty complete package. The trailer shows you a perfect slice of what the game is about. We get some tidbits of story; nothing much, just a little morsel to whet your appetite. You also get a pretty good, if somewhat edited, depiction of the sneaky and tactical gameplay; combat, traversal, the works.

Because, indeed, the combat and the traversal (especially the game’s verticality) are, as far as I’m concerned, the main draws. If people that have mastered Dark Souls or Bloodborne think they’re gonna have an easy time with it, guess again. The combat, while similar, has enough changes to keep things very fresh indeed. However, the main difference is the grappling hook. It allows you to escape tight situations, sneak around, and basically insta-kill enemies by jumping on them from above. Naturally, the rooftops aren’t always safe, so you’ll have to be on your toes at all times. It’s pretty great fun, I tells ya.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is launching on March 22nd, 2019; it’s pretty much just around the corner. It’s coming out on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. And, after playing it for a short bit last year, I’m itching to dive back in. There’s a certain red-armored warlord that I have a very personal grudge against, and need to settle. In the meantime, check out Sekiro’s launch trailer below.
