There’s a new trailer out for Prey. If you’re out of the loop, Prey is an upcoming Metroidvania-style action-adventure game with RPG elements (just rolls of the tongue, doesn’t it), developed by Arkane Studios. In it, you take control of Morgan Yu, who wakes up on the space station Talos I, owned by Transtar Industries. The whole station is overrun by Typhons, an alien species that Transtar tried to weaponize and that got loose. Your task is to get out of there, find out what Transtar’s been doing, and save the world from the alien menace.

In the trailer, several developers take turns talking about Talos I. They talk about some of the design choices, such as the lavish, Art Deco look of it. That’s meant to showcase the power and wealth of Transtar, since they can afford to transport gold and marble into outer space. Of course, the further down the rabbit hole you go, the more ominous and evil-sciency it gets.

The station itself is a huge and important part of Prey. Since it’s a Metroidvania game, Talos I is technically all open to you right off the bat. However, you’ll need to unlock new powers and gadgets (more on that in our Prey Weapons, Gadgets & Gear Trailer article) in order to access certain areas.

Additionally, we’ll be able to exit the station and float through space to access other parts of Talos I. OF course, since the station is in disrepair, there’ll be a lot of environmental hazards to get around. On top of that, there are still some survivors on Talos I, and they’re not all necessarily friendly…

Prey is coming out on May 5th, 2017. You’ll be able to get it on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. You can check out the full trailer below.
