Fate of Atlantis, the next DLC for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, is going to be released on April 23rd. There’s already an intro quest for it in the game, and the developers have released the launch trailer. It shows off some of the new environments, a bunch of enemies you’ll get to beat up and the villain you’ll work towards bringing down. Also, glowing armor. That one’s pretty important.
The DLC is going to delve deeper into Greek mythology, taking place in Atlantis and what seems to be the underworld. There’s a sharp contrast in the trailer between the former’s fields of flowers, white marble and gilded ornaments, and the desolation of the latter. From what we gather from the video, it looks like the Atlantidians won’t be happy to see you in their domain.
The lady in the trailer keeps calling you “keeper”, and there’s a brief glimpse of the immortality staff, which suggests this takes place after the events of the main game. The underworld is ruled by the bad guy from Chronicles of Riddick, only with red eyes. Cerberus makes a brief appearance, and it seems he’ll be a boss instead of a pet, which is a crying shame.
This is the first piece of AC Odyssey DLC that’s actually going to add new territory to the map, which is pretty exciting. The previous game was nicely rounded up by the new zones from the add-ons, so we’re hoping The Fate of Atlantis will do the same for this one. Owners of the season pass will have it automatically added to their accounts, while everyone else will have to pay extra. Like the Legacy of The Hidden Blade before it, this DLC will also be divided into three episodes.
