Legacy of The First Blade is the first piece of DLC for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. It’s going to be released in three episodes, the first of which is out today. It’s going to introduce Darius, the first person to ever wield the iconic hidden blade. Since it takes place during the main game’s story, a lot of people are wondering how to start Legacy of The First Blade DLC quest in AC Odyssey. That’s exactly what we’re going to show you in this guide.
Where to find Legacy of The First Blade starting quest?
In the previous game, you automatically got a quest that would lead you to a particular NPC. He or she would take you to the new map and let you enjoy the expansion. This time, the DLC is part of the main map. There’s no new region to explore – instead, the developers decided to enrich one of the underutilised areas of the existing map. It’s Makedonia, the peninsula in the far north of the game’s world.
There is a gate though – you won’t be able to access the DLC quest until you’ve completed chapter 7 and played through the events on the island Naxos. You’ll also have to be at least level 29. Once you’ve fulfilled both of these prerequisites, simply go to Makedonia. Your hero should notice some changes. From there on, the game will lead you down the intended path. The game will give you a quest called The Horsemen Cometh, which starts in the Ship Dock in western Chalkidike, in Makedonia.

Of course, you can also leave it until after you’ve finished the game. The new story is relatively independent from the main one. It does tie into the events of AC Odyssey, but it doesn’t require much previous knowledge. As the game won’t let you play it before you’ve gotten a broader sense of the world, there’s no reason to worry about stumbling into things you’re not supposed to see, or aren’t prepared to find out.
How to install Legacy of The First Blade DLC on PS4?
Although in the game it will say the DLC is installed you have to actually go to the Playstation Store and download the add-on before you can play it. Thanks to Marcos who pointed this fact out in the comments. There was a patch deployed today on PS4 that makes you believe you already have the First Blade DLC installed when you look in the in-game store. Once you load up your game and go to Macedonia the quest won’t trigger. This is because you have to actually download the First Blade DLC from the Playstation Store first. The best way to do this for me was to go to the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey icon on the PS4 home screen. Go down into the details of the game and there should be a link to the add-on section in the PS store. You should now see the First Blade DLC available as free to Season pass holders to the right. Click on it with X and you should be taken to the store page where you’ll have the download button. Once you download it start the game and then you’ll be able to activate the quest.
