AC Shadows Reveal Trailer Shows Two Playable Characters
The long-awaited Assassin’s Creed Shadows finally has a launch date, revealed in the new trailer. But more importantly, we finally got to meet our two new protagonists. One is a shinobi called Naoe from the Iga Province and the other is a samurai called Yasuke. Yes, that Yasuke. Finally, something potentially interesting.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Launch Date and Main Characters Revealed
The game takes place in the late Sengoku period. I admit my knowledge of Japanese history is spotty to say the least, but even I know that this was one of the most turbulent eras. Political turmoil was almost constant until the Tokugawa shogunate united the entire country and stamped out all opposition. And I assume that’s around the time the game is going to take place, give or take a couple years.
Whatever the exact time window the game takes place in will be fertile ground for both Yasuke and Naoe to fall deep into political machinations and usher in the creed into Japan. Will they take the side of the Tokugawa shogunate or not? And how will they react to the horrors the shogun perpetrated in order to bring the entirety of the country under their iron grasp. I am legitimately interested to see how the story will play out. Interested enough to spend at least seventy bucks and play through tens of hours of busywork? Probably not, but that’s just me.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is coming out on November 15th, 2024 and it will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC. It will have three different editions: Standard, Gold and Ultimate. They cost 70, 110 and 130 bucks, respectively. The latter includes the season pass and some cosmetic items, plus a few extra skill points. And as has now unfortunately become standard, the season pass will include an extra mission, available at launch.
