How to Investigate Last Light Inn in Baldur’s Gate 3 Selunite Resistance

In order to complete the Investigate Last Light Inn step in the Selunite Resistance quest in Baldur’s Gate 3 or BG3, you need to go down into the basement. There are several ways that you can do this. One of them is to go through the spooky house in the vicinity of the inn. Look for the door at X:-49; Y:144 that leads to Last Light Inn Cellar. You might take some damage from the Shadow-Curse the place is full off, but once you manage to get down to the underground, you’ll be fine. Now, your ultimate goal is to fight to these coordinates: X:30; Y:-700. In that cavernous room, you’ll find an altar with a book upon it. I say book, but it’s actually just a note; Halfred’s Note to be exact. Pick it up to finish the quest.

And there you go, that’s how you finish the Investigate Last Light Inn quest step in BG3 or Baldur’s Gate 3. Now, there are many unpleasant critters creepy-crawling in the basement, and you will have to deal with them. I know it’s going to be very tempting to delete them from history with a fireball or something else that does massive AoE damage. Refrain from doing this, because it might destroy the book and lock you out of the rest of the quest. We learned this the hard way by reloading the save after we got stuck. Use a lighter hand when defeating enemies down here. In fact, whenever you expect to be looking for a book, don’t use fire. All of them will burn.

Halfred’s Note points you towards the Mason’s Guild. That’s in Reithwin Town, right across the river from the remains of the potter’s workshop. To complete this step, you’ll have to find the Ornate Wooden Hatch at X: 129, Y: 26. Go down and find the last note.
