BG3 Romance Other Players
Ever since they were introduced in Baldur’s Gate II, romances have become synonymous with the BG series. As such, it’s no wonder that Baldur’s Gate 3 has decided to greatly expand upon both romances and romance options at the same time. So while there are many romancable characters at your disposal in BG3 (not to mention – some rather steamy love scenes), this naturally opens up the question of whether there are player-to-player romances in multiplayer as well. So is this even an option in Baldur’s Gate III? In this guide, we’re going to answer whether or not you can romance other players in BG3, and if so – how does this work in the game.

Can You Romance Other Players in Baldur’s Gate 3
The short answer is that, unfortunately – no – you can’t romance other players in BG3. While this was probably considered at one point in the development, it wasn’t added to the game, for whatever reason. The likeliest reason is that this was simply too difficult and time-confusing to implement. There are many variables that the game needs to keep track of when it comes to these relationships, and having player-to-player MP romances thrown into the mix would have resulted in even greater complexity.
Though, it’s always possible that Larian are going to add this – in some form or another – in a future update or DLC. Their games are often drastically changed when the Enhanced Edition or Director’s Cut comes out. And while no such updated edition has been announced yet, odds are good that BG3 is going tog get it down the line. And maybe, just maybe, the option to romance other players as well.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Romance Mods
At the time of writing this guide, there aren’t any Romance Mods that allow you to romance multiple companions and other players in multiplayer. However, since developer Larian Studios have recently said that their plan is to make modding easier and more accessible, it’s very possible that we are going to see a Multiplayer Romance Mode Among Players mod (or something to that effect) soon over on Nexus.
Playing with my boyfriend right now, was wondering exactly how we initiate the Romance, as we cant talk to eachother or anything. I’m playing as The Dark Urge, and he’s a Custom Character.
Dark Urge counts as another custom character, and you can’t romance another custom character with it.
We have Dark urge (should be counted as custom) and Astarion. And dark urge cant even talk to Astarion. Even if the player is offline.
This article is totally false. Tried romancing my husband who’s playing Gale and I am playing a custom character. There isn’t even a talk option inside or outside of camp….
