The developers of COD Warzone, Ravensoft, have nerfed the Submachine Gun Charlie MP5. This change was implemented in the new patch which dropped on August 16th. It cuts down the max damage of the gun from 34 to 31, and the max damage range is down by 5.4%. It doesn’t sound too major, but people that have become accustomed to cutting down enemies with the MP5 have definitely noticed the drop. At least they increased the upper torso damage multiplier to 1.1.
COD Warzone Submachine Gun Charlie Nerfed
Sad news for all of you that like using this MP5 rifle – the Submachine Gun Charlie in COD Warzone got a nerf. While the changes don’t seem big on paper, the compounding effect is something you’ll definitely feel. Here are the changes that Ravensoft have made to the gun, according to the official patch notes.
- Maximum Damage decreased from 34 to 31
- Maximum Damage Range decreased by 5.4%
- Upper Torso Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.1
The reason that the developers have implemented these changes is, according to the same post, in order to “place some of the power of the Submachine Gun Charlie (MW) behind a mechanical requirement – making it a little less forgiving.” I’m not entirely sure what that means just yet; if you’ve figured it out, let us know in the comments below. But the long and short of it is that the COD Warzone Submachine Gun Charlie got the nerf because the devs decided it was too powerful and upset the balance of the game.
Now, whether or not that’s true depends entirely on which end of the Charlie’s barrel you found yourself on. I’d imagine those that kept getting wiped by the gun are more than happy about the change. On the other side, I’m sure there’s people that mained the MP5 that have found themselves in quite a bit of trouble since the patch dropped. Feel free to share your experiences in the comments.
