How to Fix Unable to Change Classes in MW2

To fix the bug where you’re unable to change classes in MW2, the first step you should try is to restart Modern Warfare 2. Ideally, you’d want to completely close the app, not simply exit the game, especially if you’re on console. Maybe even consider restarting the launcher if you’re on PC. Rebooting your system doesn’t appear to be necessary, but, hey, worth a shot. Unless you’re on the PlayStation 5; restarting the console seems to fix the problem for a lot of people. While you’re at it, you might as well do a power cycle (turn the console off, unplug it for a minute or two, plug it back in, turn the console on). Hopefully this helps.

So, those are the only methods we know of to fix the MW2 Unable to Change Classes bug, which doesn’t let you edit or create a class in multiplayer. If you know of any other fixes, let us know in the comments. Now, with all of that said, there are few more important things to mention. First of all, you need to be at level 4 or over before the game allows you to edit classes. If you haven’t met that requirement, then it might not be a bug; you just haven’t unlocked the feature. Also, depending on when you’re reading this, the game might not have launched in your time zone yet. That’s another potential cause. Don’t mess with switching your systems time zone, as that’ll cause a different error in MW2.
