Diablo 4 Beta Couch Co-Op Not Working

Update: Blizzard has informed players that during the co-op in the open beta, Player 2 “may experience issues joining games with a pre-existing hero while playing couch co-op during the Prologue”. At the time of writing, there are numerous reports that players are unable to invite friends, join a party and other issues. We will update the article once we have more details.

Does Diablo 4 Beta Has Split Screen Couch Co-Op

Let’s start right off the bat with the good news! Yes, Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 4 will feature support both for online co-op and split-screen couch co-op. And not only that this feature will be available in the full release, but you will also be able to play co-op during the early access and beta weekends as well! The co-op mode in Diablo 4 supports up to four players in one party from any platform, as Diablo IV is fully cross-platform ready.

When it comes to split-screen couch co-op, Diablo 4 offers a 2-player split-screen experience. We think this is perfectly reasonable, as it will be impractical with more players. Diablo 4 couch co-op is supported on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. However, there is no split-screen support on the PC. “To play using couch co-op during the Early Access weekend, only one player will be required to have official access,” says the official post. “The second player will need to have their Battle.net and console-specific accounts linked.”

This means that if you have early access to the Diablo 4 beta, it’s enough for you and your friend to play together via couch co-op. Your friends don’t need to have early access. Furthermore, the progress in the campaign is always syncing up with the party leader. Finally, there’s even an option to play 4-play online co-op with two players being in split-screen locally! When it comes to the co-op rewards, as Blizzard states: “Vanquishing demons while near any player will grant you 5% bonus experience and 10% if you are near a member of your party”.
