Where is Dragon's Dogma 2 Bakbattahl Portcrystal?

Where is the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Bakbattahl Portcrystal, I hear you ask? Yeah, you’re not the only one. This town is a major locale, one where you’ll spend a lot of time and go back to a lot. But no matter how hard you look, you won’t find a Portcrystal. There’s a Riftstone, sure, but that’s not what we’re after. Well, I have some bad news. Let’s get into it.

Does Dragon’s Dogma 2 Bakbattahl Have Portcrystal?

No, Bakbattahl doesn’t have a Portcrystal in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Yes, I’m serious. One of the central towns in the whole game, one where you’ll be doing tons of quests in and around and returning to constantly does not have a fast-travel point by default. Instead, you’ll have to place a Portcrystal of your own. I hope you saved the one captain Brant gave you earlier. If not, well, you can always spend an extra three bucks to purchase one. I can’t explain how much I hate these tricks the devs employ to nudge you towards the microtransactions.

And yes, I know that you can get Portcrystals in other places, too, but you know as well as I do that they’re really rare. It’s a war of attrition between you and Capcom, and they want to wear you down and get you to spend more money. It’s sad. Anyway, enough ranting. Let’s talk about how you place Portcrystals.

How to Place Portcrystal in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Fortunately, it’s easy to place a Portcrystal in Dragon’s Dogma 2, though it is a bit more complicated in towns like Bakbattahl. Basically, you go into your inventory, you select the Portcrystal, and hit Use. Of course, you first have to be in the exact location where you want to have a fast travel point. Ideally, you want this to be around the Bakbattahl inn or somewhere nearby. Problem is, the game won’t let you place it just anywhere, so you’ll have to reposition yourself a few times and keep trying. Worst comes to worst, just put the Portcrystal near the town gates, that’ll do just fine. Again, these items are really rare (unless you spend real-life money), but Bakbattahl is one place where it’s absolutely worth dropping one.
