Fallout 76 How to Trade With Other Players

Trading with other players in Fallout 76 is supposed to be a big part of the game. It’s a great way to get something you can’t gather yourself for some reason, but also to make money off stuff you don’t necessarily need. You will be able to sell stuff to NPCs as well, but when selling to people, you’ll be able to dictate the price. In case you were wondering how exactly the system works, we’ve written a guide on how to trade in Fallout 76.

How to trade in FO76?

Your first step would be to find a willing participant. Whenever you approach another player, you’ll get a prompt to invite them to your group or start trading with them. If you press Y on Xbox (triangle on PS4, space on PC), it’ll send them an invite for trading. If they decline, you go your separate ways. If they accept, the trading screen pops up.

If you’re selling, you’ll have the chance to browse your inventory in the left column. Once you’ve found whatever it is you want to sell, select it and set the price using the provided slider. If the other person accepts, the deal is done. If not, you can try lowering the price.

If you’re buying, you can press RT on Xbox (R2 on PS4) to inspect their inventory. Look for anything that tickles your fancy, then select it. You’ll have to wait for the other person to set a price then. If you like it, accept. If not, you can try to get them to lower it.

And that’s pretty much it. Selling basic, generic items to other players may not make much sense, as you can unload them at pretty much any NPC vendor. However, more valuable stuff, like rare resources or unique armor and weapons, can be sold to interested parties at a much higher price than the NPCs could offer.
