As for messing around with your own clan, click the “Clan Actions” button in the bottom left, between “Browse Clans” and “Back.” This will bring up a side menu where you can do a lot of things. You can edit your clan name, description, tag, emblem and privacy, as well as disband the clan or transfer ownership. And that’s basically how to make and join a clan in COD Vanguard. You can figure stuff out from there. Just always remember to edit the privacy to your perference. Your options are to either leave the doors open completely, make it invite-only, or let people submit requests to join as a compromise solution.
