How to Reset Skills & Respec in Diablo 2 Resurrected

To reset skills in Diablo 2 Resurrected and respec, you have several options at your disposal. The first opportunity that you’ll get is the NPC called Akara. You’ll find her during the first act of the game, in the main town. After you’ve completed your first quest in Act 1, talk to Akara, and you should get the option to reset stats/skill points. Mind you, this is not something you’ll be able to do ad infinitum, but only once per difficulty level. At least it’s free.

The second option is definitely not the best, but it’s not without its use – just start over with a new character. If you’re unhappy with your character even after you’ve used Akara’s reset, you might as well reroll from the top. You’re still relatively early in the game, and you have a long way to go before you can respec on your own. Better to make a new character than suffer with a garbage one.

When it comes to how to reset skills and respec in Diablo 2 Resurrected, your main method is going to be the Token of Absolution. You can craft this item after you get the Horadric Cube by mixing four different Essences: Burning Essence of Terror, Twisted Essence of Suffering, Festering Essence of Destruction, and Charged Essence of Hatred. You get these essences mostly as rare drops from bosses on higher difficulties. While there’s no limit to how many Tokens of Absolution you can make, farming the Essences is quite the chore, so you still need to think twice whether it’s the right moment to respec.
