Cave Icons not Appearing on Map in Lego Fortnite, Missing Caves Bug

While exploring your world in Lego Fortnite, you will constantly discover new things. By now, probably everyone knows how to find a cave in Lego Fortnite. Nevertheless, that was one of the biggest mysteries during the first few days of the game. That’s because you need to explore first, as the map will not automatically show cave icons around the world. As you approach a cave, the white icon of two mountains with an entrance, representing caves, will appear, signalling players that there’s a cave nearby. It’s a near feature that makes a balanced compromise between the elements of discover and map markers. You get to know where a cave is on the map, but only after you’ve already discovered it. Simple, logical and fan.

However, this feature doesn’t seem to always work correctly. Namely, players have started noticing that often times cave icons would not appear on map. I have found a mix of marked and unmarked caves throughout the game. The unmarked ones never got marked till now. There doesn’t seem to be a max,” says Reddit user Weedhack. “I think the game doesn’t recognize the trigger to mark the cave on the map.” At the moment, we don’t exactly know for sure what triggers this bug and what you should do to avoid it. Hopefully, Epic Games will fix it soon. We will make sure to update the article once we have more details.
