Kindoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning, the remaster of the ill-fated epic RPG from way back in 2012, has been released. It allows the game to run on modern system and spruces its eight year old visage with some fancy new tricks. Most people have been enjoying the romp, but some of them have been having some technical issues that prevent them from playing the game. One of those issues is the inability to remap controls on PC in Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning.
How to change controls in Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning?
You’re supposed to be able to change them in the settings, like you do in other games. Simply select a command and press the mouse or keyboard button you want assigned to it. It’s not rocket science, right? The tooltips also reflect the changes you’ve made, so you don’t even have to remember the bindings from the start.
Except that it isn’t working for many. We’ve read a number of reports from people who get animation locked after changing the controls – for instance, if they bind the run command where the block command used to be, when they press the button, the game will try to play the animations for both the block and run. The character will end up getting stuck in an uncanny pose, without actually performing any of the two commands.
So what’s the solution? Well, if you’re already stuck, we have no good news for you. You might try resetting the controls to default and loading an earlier save. Apart from that, your only recourse would be to wait for the developers to fix the issue with a patch. It should go without saying that if you haven’t messed with the controls yet, it’s best to avoid doing so.
