Injustice 2 Red Hood DLC Fighter Release Date Revealed

NetherRealm is seriously buckling down on making Injustice 2 the best and most varied fighting game they can. Recently, they dropped the Injustice 2 June Update, which introduced a myriad of smaller and larger bug fixes and gameplay polishes and balances. Now, it’s time for the game to get its first post-launch DLC character: Red Hood.

We got our first glimpse of Red Hood in the Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 1 trailer, together with Starfire and Sub-Zero, as well as some mysterious silhouettes in the background, hinting at future characters (possibly including Raiden and Black Manta). Then, NetherRealm released the Red Hood gameplay trailer, showing off the fighter’s moveset, combos, and super move. After all that teasing, we finally know when the character will go live – Tuesday, June 13th, according to a tweet from Ed Boon, the leader of NetherRealm Studios.

Red Hood, as well as Starfire, Sub-Zero will automatically become available to players that either purchased the Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition of the game, or bought the Fighter Pack 1 separately (currently going for $20). However, if you want to buy Red Hood only and not the whole pack, you’ll be able to do so starting next week, according to Destructoid. Those that purchased the Ultimate Edition will also automatically get all the future DLC fighters down the pipeline.

Injustice 2 launched on May 16th and is available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It also has a mobile version for iOS and Android devices.
