The Lost Ark duplicated beta key problem has been impacting a lot of players that are trying to get into the closed beta, and it manifests itself in many different ways. Mainly, it either sends people one bogus and one working key, but a lot of people ended up with two duplicate codes, meaning neither of them actually work. It’s a messy situation. So, is there anything you can actually do about it? Well, let’s find out.
Duplicated Beta Key Problem in Lost Ark
The duplicated beta key problem in Lost Ark is fairly multifaceted, as we’ve kinda intimated in the beginning. People are getting more than one beta code when they should be getting only one. That in itself wouldn’t be that bad, because, hey, two keys! However, the issue is that usually one of these codes registers as a duplicate when you try to redeem it on Steam, while the other key actually works. That’s if you’re lucky. If you’re not, then both codes will register as duplicates on Steam, effectively locking you out of playing the beta.
Now, obviously, this is some sort of gaffe on the side of the developers, or more likely, on the side of Amazon Games. As such, the best and really only thing you can do about it is to register a complaint with Amazon Games and wait for them to fix it for you. Ideally, they’ll send you a key that actually works. That’s the only “solution” to the Lost Ark duplicated beta key problem that we know of. As we’ve explained in our How to Download Lost Ark Beta guide, you want to get the “Lost Ark Closed Technical Beta” to appear in your library. I’ve seen some people say that exiting and restarting Steam can fix the issue, so it’s worth a shot, but there’s no guarantee it’ll work.
The situation is definitely a bummer, since a lot of people paid good money to get into this beta. The game has had a ton of Western fans, even though they couldn’t do so without jumping through numerous hoops. So, now that they finally have a legit way to play it and do so early, they can’t. Hopefully it’ll all be fixed quickly and efficiently.
