Monster Hunter World Iceborne Alatreon Update Delayed

Capcom has announced via the Monster Hunter Twitter account that they’re delaying the Alatreon Update for MHW: Iceborne, aka Title Update 4. The reason is, of course, COVID-19 impacting the production. There is no info as to when you can expect to see the Alatreon Update. At least, not at the time of writing.

It’s starting to look like most news coming from the gaming world revolve around different delays caused by COVID-19. And, of course, that’s just an unavoidable reality in the current global situation; I’d rather a project get delayed and the developers remain safe, thank you very much. That said, nobody can deny that it’s frustrating. The latest on the list is the Monster Hunter World Iceborne Title Update 4, aka the Alatreon update. This will surely bum out fans of the franchise, since the black dragon has been a staple since Monster Hunter 3.

The official announcement on the Monster Hunter Twitter reads: “Unfortunately, coronavirus (COVID-19) related impacts on production have made it necessary to postpone the release off the fourth free title update for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. Voice over production for the Italian, Spanish, and French language versions have also been affected, and will be replaced with simplified recordings.” Then they, of course, apologize to the fans for the delay, and promise further updates once they have more information to share.

And, well, there you have it. If you’ve been looking forward to squaring off against Alatreon this May, well… you’ll have to stay patient for a while longer. Hopefully, the delay won’t be too long. Besides, there will be some new content coming on May 1st. You can see what you’ll be getting in the image up top. So, it won’t be a complete dry spell of content. Chin up, wash your hands, and stay inside. The Alatreon update will arrive when the time is right.
