Agents of Mayhem Trailer Released, Showcases Vehicles

Agents of Mayhem, the game where every character is obsessed with flipping people off, has a new trailer. The latest video focuses on the vehicles each of the characters can use. It’s pretty vague, so we don’t know whether the different vehicles behave differently at all. The difference might be purely cosmetic, but we’ll never know. Or until the game is released.

In case you’re not familiar with it, Agents of Mayhem is an open world third person shooter from the creators of Saints Row and Red Faction. It’s about a rag-tag group of freedom fighters gathered to fight an evil scientist. The main selling point, apart from the silliness of the whole thing, is the ability to switch between characters mid-mission. Each hero has unique abilities, and you can bring three of them on every mission. However, you can only control one at a time, so you have to switch. It seems like a natural fit for multiplayer, but there won’t be any, sadly.

The new trailer showcases vehicles – it’s mostly flashy sports cars, but there’s also a jet-propelled pogo stick, an homage to Kaneda’s bike from Akira, and an SUV encased in ice. They look like they’ll allow you to do different things, but there’s no way to tell, since the trailer doesn’t take the time to explain. Oh well. At least you can enjoy the flashy paintjobs and explosions. And a giant, bald Russian dude flipping you off.

Agents of Mayhem is going to be released on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One on August 15th. You can preorder it, and get some fancy costumes nobody is going to see, because it’s a singleplayer game. They look pretty, though. You can make a burly seaman dress up as the Bride from Kill Bill.
