Borderlands 3 Gameplay Video Covers First Mission

A new gameplay video of Borderlands 3 has been released by IGN. It covers the first mission of the game. It’s pretty much a carbon copy of previous Borderlands. You meet Claptrap, he does funny stuff, gets you into trouble, then you gun down a bunch of Psychos and other trouble-makers. You know how this goes by now.

So, let’s go through the video, shall we? If I’m being brutally honest, it’s almost note-for-note exactly the same as the previous two Borderlands games. First, you meet Claptrap, and he’s just as ridiculous as always. Yes, I miss the previous voice actor, too, but I’m not opening that can of worms here. He still has the charm, though; he’s one of my favorite characters in gaming, sue me.

From there, we go into pretty standard Borderlands fare. Claptrap does something dumb and gets both of you into trouble. From there, you have to gun down a metric butt-ton of Psychos and other denizens of the Vault. The initial skirmish ends with killing the leader of that particular vault, Shiv. We then briefly meet Lilith, the leader of the Crimson Raiders, the faction that recruited us. Then, there’s a little more shooting to be had, where you’ll see, the special skills of your character. All in all, it’s nothing to write home about. It’s Borderlands; nothing more, nothing less.

Borderlands 3 is set to launch on September 13th, 2019, barring any unexpected delays. It’ll be available on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. And yes, Google Stadia. You can pre-order it if you want to, but I don’t encourage that kind of behavior. When it comes to PC, there’s one thing we gotta note here. For six months after launch, Borderlands 3 is gonna be an Epic Store exclusive. Just pointing that out, because I know that’s something that causes no arguments whatsoever.
