Borderlands 3 New So Happy Together Trailer Released

Gearbox has revealed a new trailer for Borderlands 3. The video, called “So Happy Together,” features the heroes and villains of the game dancing to a happy little song, while shooting the everloving Jesus out of each other. It’s all very trippy and fun, if a little too on the nose. You thought that the event would feature some bigger reveal? Well, so did I, but what are you gonna do?

Borderlands 3 New So Happy Together Trailer Released

Borderlands fans have gathered yesterday to the “Celebration of Togetherness” event. I’m sure many people were expecting some kind of grand reveal; to learn something new about the game, something like that. Turns out, all it was about is a new trailer, which you can check out below, if you so choose. It’s basically a little music video for the song “Happy Together” by The Turtles. The “So Happy Together” trailer celebrates co-op play, with the video description reading: “Friends who shoot together loot together.” Which is funny, considering that the only new thing we did learn before the event was that Borderlands 3 won’t feature cross-platform play at launch.

Now, what do we see in the video? Mostly our main characters dancing to the music and shooting a whole bunch of people (in a way that is very reminiscent of one of the Fallout 76 trailers, which has me worried a bit). There’s also a whole bunch of surreal imagery featuring Psychos. This ranges from a synchronized dance to a teeny tiny Psycho riding a bullet. Borderlands 3 is honestly getting on my nerves right about now, just like Rage 2 did before it. You’re trying way too hard to be cool and silly. We get it. Stop.

So, there you have it. A bit of an underwhelming reveal, but at least the video looks kinda cool. Borderlands 3 is coming out on September 13th, 2019. You’ll be able to play it on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It’ll also be out on Google Stadia, if you wanna just stream it, or don;t have the machine to pull it off on its own.
