Dreamers Gameplay Trailer Shows of New Game by PlaySys

Dreamers, the highly-stylized adventure game from Italian development studio PlaySys, have released a gameplay trailer for the game a while back. Their newest effort takes you on a journey across a colorful, angular world where, apparently, pirates and relatively modern technology exist at the same time. According to the developers, you can expect an emotional journey made up of main quests, side quests, collectibles, vehicles to upgrade, and more.

Dreamers Gameplay Trailer Shows of New Game by PlaySys

The whole adventure of Dreamers starts with your character receiving a letter from their grandma, which encourages them to go and explore the land. On your travels, you’ll explore various vibrant locations and meet plenty of kooky NPCs, solve puzzles, and more. It’s a third-person adventure game, you know what to expect for the most part. What’s interesting about Dreamers is that there are some sections that you can play in split-screen co-op.

Of course, what sets Dreamers apart from other similar games is the art design. It’s highly stylized, with minimalist character design and very surrealist environments. From a certain perspective, it looks like something that Tim Burton might have designed, except, you know, with color. It really is pleasant to look at, in my opinion. It seems like PlaySys are gunning for an experience that all ages can play and enjoy. Based purely on the material provided, it seems they’ve done so.

If what we’ve written about Dreamers so far has tickled your fancy, you’re gonna have to wait for a while before you can play it. According to the press release, the game should see the light of day some time in the fall of 2021. For now, we know that Dreamers will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, with further details about other platforms coming later. While you wait, you can check out a gameplay trailer below, set to some lovely europop.
