Jedi: Fallen Order Gameplay Coming Next Month, Respawn Confirms

After the somewhat unexpected success of Apex Legends, I think most people now have even more faith in Respawn and their upcoming Star Wars game, Jedi: Fallen Order. True, it’s a completely different genre, but still. And this year’s EA Play event, scheduled to begin on June 7th, is going to be a chance for them to convince the gaming public further. According to Respawn’s Twitter account, we’ll be getting our first look at Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay footage at said event, so mark your calendars.

The gameplay video is certainly going to be welcome, considering that the one cinematic trailer that we got to see so far. All we know right now is that it takes place some time after Palpatine wipes out the Jedi with Order 66. We’ll be playing as Cal Kestis, a padawan that somehow managed to survive. It’s certainly an intriguing setup; one can’t help but wonder how a student lived through something that most Jedi masters didn’t. Incidentally, Cal is portrayed by Cameron Monaghan of Jerome and Jeremiah Valeska fame from Gotham, so that’s a huge plus even before the get-go.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is coming out on November 15th, 2019. You’ll be able to pick it up on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Will it finally help EA claw themselves out of the hole that they’ve dug with Battlefront 2? Well, that remains to be seen; perhaps the upcoming gameplay video is going to clue us in further. One certainly hopes so.
