Ed Boon has been pulling an Elon Musk with MK 11 players lately. He has managed to piss of a fiercely loyal fan base by trolling them. Somebody at NetherRealm might want to confiscate his phone or something. That said, in a recent tweet, he has managed to spin gold, I do admit that. The sarcasm of Shang Tsung reading messages from people clamoring for the announcement of the remaining two mystery Kombat Pack characters is pretty dang funny.

Thanks to the tweet, we now know that the two currently anonymous characters will get their reveal on August 21st, in a Kombat Pack trailer. Now, of course, people are wondering who these fighters are gonna be. Theories range from Michael Myers of Halloween fame, to Pennywise the Clown. As we’ve covered before, a dataminer has discovered voice lines from the likes of Evil Dead’s Ash, Spawn, The Joker, and the Terminator. Spawn came true, and Bruce Campbell has shot down the Ash rumors. So, could the two be The Joker and the Terminator? We’ll find out in a little less than three weeks.

The Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack costs forty bucks. For your money, you’ll get Shang Tsung, Sindel, Spawn, the now fully-revealed Nightwolf, and the two yet-to-be unveiled characters. And nineteen extra skins to sweeten the deal. Naturally, you can always just purchase the characters you want individually. Or, if you’re like me, wait and buy a full version of the game later on.
