Plague Inc The Cure DLC Now Out for Free on All Platforms

Ndemic Creations, the developers of Plague Inc, have had their hands full ever since the outbreak of the coronavirus. They’ve been very active on trying to educate people on what’s going on, and they’ve promised to make a mode where you fight the disease instead of creating it. Well, that DLC, called simply The Cure, is now out on all platforms. They created it with the help of WHO, CEPI and GOARN, so you know it’s legit. The cure will stay free “until COVID-19 is under control.”

Plague Inc The Cure DLC Now Out for Free on All Platforms

Fellow Plague Inc. fans, you know those annoying blue planes and beakers that pop up across the map, spelling slow doom for your disease? Yeah, kinda hard to be mad at them these days, isn’t it? Well, with the new The Cure DLC, you can actually play as them. Channel all your COVID-19 frustrations into kicking its butt in the game. Honestly, it’s the biggest wish-fulfillment fantasy of the decade. So, what can you expect to see in the new DLC? Well, according to the Steam announcement:

  • Hunt the Disease – Dispatch research teams around the world to find patient zero, track the spread of the outbreak and support local responses.
  • Control the Outbreak – Implement measures such as contact tracing, lockdowns and border closures to limit the spread of the outbreak, whilst getting people to wash their hands and preparing hospitals to prevent them getting overwhelmed.
  • Support the Economy – People won’t comply with poorly designed quarantine measures; use furlough schemes and other policies to drive community support and consensus.
  • Develop a Vaccine – Research, manufacture and distribute a vaccine to stop the disease. Work carefully and promote global cooperation to accelerate development.

It sounds pretty challenging, but as we all know too well, battling a pandemic is a living nightmare. And don’t forget, you can be a virus-fighting hero in the real world. Please, wear a mask, don’t touch your face, wash your hands, and stay home as much as you can. If we all play it as safe as we can, then the blue planes and beakers will have a much easier job.
